Seoul Soul Northcote Web site
I'm addicted to Soul Seoul's meal buckets! You can choose from soy tofu (mild and sweet) or spicy tofu (hot and spicy), it's only $11 for lunch or $14 for dinner (which is larger), and includes battered and fried tofu, rice with pickled vegies, salad with a Korean style dressing, a couple of deep fried treats and a slice of tinned peach and orange (which is like a little bite of dessert in the mix). Perfect combination of healthy and treat elements, and a hearty meal. The tofu noodle soup and shitake mushroom skewers are also great!
Seoul Soul's layout lends itself more to eating alone or with a friend or two rather than a large group, with just two long tables divided up into little eating zones, and it can get loud. This would be a great place to go to with a diverse group friends though- plenty of non vegan and gluten free items on the menu, and it isn't all spicy.
Note: i had a mini freak out when I saw an urban spoon review that stated all their tofu was marinated with fish sauce and kim chi was the only vegan dish on the menu. I checked via Seoul Soul's facebook page, they assured me this was not the case (they don't even use fish sauce), but to let the staff know you are vegan when ordering, apparently some of the garnishes aren't vegan, but thankfully the tofu is!
